Terms of use
Effective October 17, 2026
These terms apply when you download and use LingoClipper for Mac, in the free version or with Mac Pro. By using the app, you agree to them.
Who we are
LingoClipper is made by Yijing Jia, an independent developer. You can reach us at support@lingoclipper.com.
Using the app
- You may install LingoClipper on Macs you own or control and use it for your own learning.
- You may not sell, rent, or redistribute the app, or get around its license checks.
- The app and this website remain ours. These terms give you no rights in them beyond the use described here.
Free and Mac Pro
- The free version has the limits shown on our website, such as how many clips you can save and how many whole recordings it transcribes automatically.
- Mac Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The price is shown at checkout.
- Mac Pro is active on one Mac at a time. When you change Macs, recover it on the new Mac with the same email address.
- Mac Pro works offline, but it needs to go online from time to time to renew its license.
- Mac Pro is sold by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia), our reseller and merchant of record. Creem processes your payment, issues the invoice and handles sales tax, and Creem’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
- Mac Pro includes all updates to LingoClipper for Mac 1.x. If we later release a new major version that is sold separately, your Mac Pro keeps working in version 1.x.
- You unlock Mac Pro in the app with the email address you entered at checkout, and restore it on another Mac with the same address, so keep access to it.
Your content
- Audio, transcripts, and translations you create are yours. They stay on your devices, as the privacy policy explains.
- Only capture, record, or import audio you have the right to use. LingoClipper doesn’t get around copy protection (DRM).
- Speech recognition and translation are automatic and can make mistakes. Check anything important.
Refunds
Refunds follow our refund policy.
Changes
We may change the app, its features, and these terms. The date at the top shows the version that applies.
If we stop selling Mac Pro, licenses already bought are not revoked.
If we ever shut down the license service, we will announce it on this website and in the app at least 30 days in advance. Before it shuts down, we will release an update that lets Mac Pro already active on your Mac keep working without going online.
Ending your use
You can stop using LingoClipper at any time by deleting it. If you seriously break these terms, for example by getting around the license checks or reselling the app, we may turn off Mac Pro for the license concerned and will tell you why. Everything you saved stays on your Mac. The sections on warranties, liability and disputes continue to apply after your use ends.
No warranty
We work to make LingoClipper reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms. In particular, we don’t promise that the app will be free of errors or interruptions, that it will work with every app, file or Mac, or that transcripts and translations will be accurate. We also exclude implied warranties, such as those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost time. Our total liability for all claims relating to LingoClipper is limited to the amount you paid for Mac Pro.
These limits don’t apply to liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury, or for loss we cause intentionally, through gross negligence or by fraud.
Your rights
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the laws of your country that can’t be limited by agreement.
Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of mainland China.
If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@lingoclipper.com so we can try to resolve it together. If we can’t, the dispute will be decided by the competent people’s court at the place where we are domiciled.
If you are a consumer, this doesn’t take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and where those laws allow, you may also bring a claim in the courts there.
General
If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we don’t enforce a provision straight away, we can still enforce it later.
